A site that forces your information out there even if you DONT WANT IT.

Please remove my stupid college recording project from your website. I'm not famous and I didn't officially release it and I don't know who put it on there. It also has loads of INCORRECT info which is laughable. Take it down please. I have a right to my internet publicity and if my face is on your website and this album was never officially released, no one had the right to put it on your site.

DISCOGS USELESS. ANDRÉ KOLE A LIAR AND RIP OFF MERCHANT

I don't know why Discogs offer a 'support' procedure as they are as useful as they are as supportive as a chocolate jock strap. Utterly useless and set up to favour crooks. I ordered a NM graded LP from André Kole in the Netherlands for a total of €38.40. NM (as set out in the grading instructions within Discogs site) basically means the record LOOKS unplayed and as new. What arrived looked like the LPs had been unsleeved and stored under a bed for twenty years and the sleeve stored in direct sunlight for same given its bleached condition. I questioned Kole stating my unhappiness. He disagreed and reckoned the grading was down to personal opinion. I knew I was definitely dealing with an idiot. I wanted a return and refund. He reluctantly agreed, also stating I wouldn't be out of pocket. I spent a further £14.10 to return tracked (I wasn't risking Kole saying it hadn't arrived). In short, the LP hit customs in Europe and stayed there for over TWO MONTHS. By the time it eventually arrived, the Discogs feedback window CLOSED - something they claim they cannot change - and I know Kole was counting on this happening by this point. He did refund me €30 but reneged on his promise not to leave me out of pocket. Now over £20 in shipping. Kole now not responding and Discogs not interested.AVOID DISCOGS IF POSSIBLE AND DO NOT BUY FROM ANDRÉ KOLE IN NETHERLANDS.

Took a week to ship a single CD

Took a week to ship a single CD. No warning on the delay from the buyer, no action can be taken. You just buy things and deal with whatever disappointment comes your way. Welcome to Discogs.

    Proceed with caution!

Discogs is a marketplace and as such I can’t hold them completely responsible per se. However I can say the sellers can be very nefarious. I’ve had two this week trying to get me to pay for items directly, bypassing Discogs. Like I would blindly send money using the friend option to a random PayPal account with no buyer protection. Agree with many on over graded records and no recourse to dispute. I only buy from sellers with a high number of reviews and 100% sat scores. Nothing that’s not in my home country. Nothing expensive/collectors unless you can risk it. eBay definitely favors the buyers in disputes. Discogs seems to be a “buyer on your own” situation.

There is bad sellers at discogs.

I've usually used ebay for purchasing LP.I recently used discogs for a month. The experince at discogs was terrible that I couldn't have before.Check the seller's feedbacks and point first!Do not order the lower grade sellers under 98%.They'll send wrong grade LP.And they'll say a lie that it was perfect. As For ebay,They resolve the issue immediately when customer met wrong item.So the customers don't have to fight with bad sellers. But doscogs is totally different. When you have some issue for item, you have to fight with bad sellers by yourself.Discogs dosen't help anything. When the seller was saying a lie,You have to call to your credit card company to hold your payment. It's not so good. And the seller dosn't support the return shipping charge.Even though they made a mistake.Discogs dosen't make any safety assurance for custommer. And the bad sellers makes bad feedback to customers what they just want.I received bad feedback from bad seller. But it wasn't true. The seller posted VG plus grade LP.But he sent G grade Lp.And then he wrote negative feedback that it was close to near mint and I said a lie.stay away from discogs.just use ebay.Ebay has safety assurance for customer. It's very dangerous to purchase at discogs. And you would be really stressed with bad sellers.Discogs looks that they don't control the bad sellers. That was horrible exprience that I've never seen before at Ebay.

    Worst experience ever

Worst experience ever. Seller sent me overgraded vinyl record & sleeve, messages from him were flippant then downright nasty. Had to get minimum partial refund from PayPal after which seller left negative feedback. Asked for review & feedback to be removed. Discogs refused request even though he clearly breached their feedback guidelines. He called me "shake down artist" which is virtually the same as "scam artist" which Discogs own guidelines state cannot be used in feedback. There is no buyer protection on this site anymore
