Oh the headaches I had with this app

The Problems 1. Delayed or missing messages: Messages often don’t show up until you open the app. Even on standard Android with Play Services, people report delays ranging from minutes to never. You can miss group messages, direct messages, calls — everything. 2. Push system is fundamentally flawed: Element Android doesn’t handle push well. It relies on device registration with Firebase, a push gateway, and syncing. If one piece fails (token expiration, app killed in background, sync timeout), you’re dead. 3. App state problems: App starts in background but doesn’t sync. Encryption keys not always ready. Message shows as delivered but isn’t decrypted until you manually open it. 4. Group chats are even worse: More metadata to sync. More devices = more keys = more chances to fail. 5. The official Matrix homeserver (matrix.org) Overloaded, slow, and not optimized for mobile use. Users on matrix.org often see delivery issues worse than those on their own server.

    Terrible Support

As a Matrix client, the app is decent, even if a little underdeveloped. However, NEVER use any of their paid services. From their marketing, they sound great. But they won't work and you will get ZERO support. I emails tech support about an error message for month with no response. Finally got someone from another department, who reached out to tech support, and was again blown off. The worst part was that when I asked about a refund (I had paid for the services for 2+ months and got nothing, I was promptly ghosted.

Fake Interviews - Scammers - Element.io and Matrix.org do nothing to protect you from these criminals

As a warning to all, criminals use this app to create fake matrix profiles asking job seekers to download this messenger app offering fake interviews to steal their personal information. and Element or matrix does nothing to remove these fake profiles. I feel so terrible for those that thought they had an interview with me, instead you were catfished. Be smart don't use products that do nothing to protect you and never provide personal info through a messenger service, especially this one.

If you are as annoyed and

If you are as annoyed and, as tired of the crap on the former "Hangout"? When you're trying to stay in touch with REAL LIFE friends? Download and experiment with an alternative "Element." I was looking for an alternative and reading two blogs, only, who ranked and listed pros and cons? I have never seen a product that had NO cons. And the reviews on the play store are excellent (some might be fake) and, those of two extremely technical friends, with over 20 years of Software consulting experience each who gave me the specs and told me why they both use it because of the VOIP option and the video! Especially after the simple setup and their encryption recommendations. So far, I am convinced.

I believe in the great future of this project. Great. Matrix Protocol Element (Riot.IM) Gone with the proprietary spy instant messengers from Facebook and their support.
