Open-source, onion route, p2p, account == private key, multi platform. And it have cloud sync with encryption. My most favorite messenger.

Excellent private, cross-platform, open-source app.
Excellent private (and multi-platform) messenger. It's similar to Signal. I opt for open-source messengers like this over proprietary (closed-source) apps like WhatsApp, Viber, etc.

Secure and convenient
not the most developed messenger. I wish it stored my contacts at the least, however, it is secure, and if I loose my phone due to water damage (🤬) while out traveling, and I don't have access to my simcard to verify via SMS (AHEM signal and whatsapp) then I can atleast get my account back! Also have apps for phone and desktop
