בית לוחמי הגטאות ע"ש יצחק קצנלסון למורשת השואה והמרד נוסד בשנת 1949 על ידי קהילה של ניצולי שואה, חברים במחתרות היהודיות בגטאות פולין ויוצאי יחידות פרטיזנים. בית עדות, שיספר את סיפורו של העם היהודי במאה העשרים בכלל ובימי מלחמת העולם השנייה בפרט, ובמרכזו - את ביטויי ההתנגדות היהודית, מרד היהודים בגטאות ובמחנות, ולחימת היהודים ביחידות הפרטיזנים ובצבאות בעלות הברית. בית לוחמי הגטאות, המוזאון הראשון בעולם להנצחת השואה והגבורה היהודית, הוא הביטוי העליון למחוייבותם של מייסדיו לעשייה חינוכית בנושא השואה בישראל ובעולם. בית לוחמי הגטאות למורשת השואה והמרד ע"ש יצחק קצנלסון הינו מוזאון מוכר ע"י משרד החינוך, התרבות והספורט"
