Zoo Praha, also known as Prague Zoo, is a zoological garden in Prague, Czech Republic. It was opened in 1931 with the goal to advance the study of zoology, protect wildlife, and educate the public. The zoo occupies 58 hectares (140 acres) with 50 hectares (120 acres) used for exhibits. It is home to over 4,800 animals representing more than 690 species, including many that are endangered. The zoo is involved in numerous conservation projects worldwide and is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA).
